Beach day!

My friend Pat has a new car, and we've been dying to break it in with a trip to the beach. So last Thursday, we got up early and made the 2 hour drive to the Oregon coast for a day of adventure! We enjoyed a little bit of everything the beach has to offer. First we went to Seaside to do some shopping, and try on hats at the hat shop (a must when you're in Seaside).

Classy Pat wears a classy hat.

After we were done at Seaside, we went to Arcadia beach for a bit of ocean time. The weather was overcast, but warm, and it made for some great picture taking.

Once our feet were so cold we thought they might fall off, we took a break and went to visit the Tillamook cheese factory. We sampled the squeaky cheese and did a bit of shopping in the gift shop. We planned to go south to see Pacific City, but somehow we got turned around and ended up heading back north on a different road. The drive was so beautiful though, we didn't complain. Since we were heading the right direction anyway, we went back to Arcadia beach to see the tide pools while the tide was out.

Check out the difference from when I was standing here in the last picture!

The wind kept turning me into cousin It.

This couple was riding their bikes on the beach, in the sunset.
I thought it was so cute!

And it made for some great pictures!

After the sun went down, we drove back up to seaside for some Chinese before we hit the road home. It was a thoroughly awesome day at the beach!

Bunny fashion show

Bunbun decided the other day that it was about time he got some publicity, so he called me up for a photo shoot. I did the photos for free, so he's letting me post them to my blog. Enjoy!

This one is more of a spring look; fun and flirty.
This look is for those sultry summer nights. Watch out, ladies!
Here we have him modeling our winter furs collection.
And again from a different angle.
He calls this look Blue Steel.
And this one's La Tigra.
Here we've got a nice full body shot in Autumn attire.
And a close up. Contrasting fur colors and heavy eyeliner really makes those eyes stand out!
Bunbun faces any fashion challenge head on!
Here we've got a great profile. Check out that chiseled jaw!
This last one is a new look Bunbun's just released, called Magnum. Very daring and original.

After our photo shoot, Bunbun invited me into his home for an interview. After graciously serving me with some corn, he shared with me the biggest secret to success in the fashion industry: always believe in who you are. Though fads may come and go, confidence will always be in style.

Always.

Kristin's homecoming

So... this is only 3 months late, but... Kristin's home!! Kristin came home from Germany in late April, and we've just been having so much fun that I haven't had time to blog about it. We picked Kristin up from the airport late on the Friday the 27th, and we spent the weekend just hanging out. We did a bit of shopping, watched some movies, and Kristin listened to all the music she'd been missing while she was on her mission. Kristin was so excited to unpack all the boxes she'd left behind when she went on her mission, and rediscover all the clothes she'd forgotten she had. She was especially excited to put on some jeans, and she did some modeling for me.

The following Tuesday, we had a bit of a surprise for Kristin. Kelsey, one of Kristin's best friends, was flying up from Florida for a visit. We told Kristin that mom had agreed to pick up a sister from the ward who needed a ride home from the airport, and that it would be a great excuse to go to IKEA for lunch. There's an IKEA right next to the airport here. So we all went and had lunch, and then went to the airport to wait for "the sister from the ward". The look on Kristin's face when Kelsey walked out from the gates was classic!

Kelsey was here for a week, so we tried to cram as much fun into that time as possible. We went on a drive up the gorge to see the waterfalls, went to the beach for a couple days, and visited downtown Portland and the Saturday Market. It was an awesome week of awesomness.

I love how green it is in the gorge.
 Multnomah Falls!
Check out these lovely lades! ;)
The view from here was awesome!

 Epic pose.

Eating breakfast at Pig'n Pancake. Mmm...
Of course, you have to try on hats at the hat shop every time you're in Seaside.
It was only fitting that Kelsey try on the flamingo, as she's from Florida now.
The cow hat behind me photo-bombed this picture.
 Jump pictures are also required.
 Kristin's got ninja skills!
 Portland Saturday Market.

We had a great week, but then it was time for Kelsey to go back home. We were very sad to see her go, but at least we all wore epic t-shirts for the occasion!

It's been wonderful to have Kristin home again! It's been fun to have the girls of the family reunited again for the summer, and enjoy all our favorite summer pastimes. We've picked strawberries, gone swimming in the river, tanned on mom's deck, and lots of other fun adventures. And there's still a month to enjoy before Kristin goes back to BYU! Yay! I love my sister. :)

Happy Easter!

For Easter this year, Mom, Wayne, and I went up the gorge to see the falls and have a picnic. We had a really fun time! The weather was nice for a change, and it was refreshing to walk around and enjoy the outdoors. Oregon is so beautiful, it's a shame the weather doesn't permit us to enjoy it more! It was lovely this weekend though. Here are some pictures for you!

It really was a beautiful day! And mom packed us a delicious picnic that included sandwiches, melon, sugar snap peas, and of course, Easter candy. ;) Heidi had a good time too, though any time she gets to ride in the car it's a good time. :) I hope you all had a wonderful Easter as well!
