Kristin's homecoming

So... this is only 3 months late, but... Kristin's home!! Kristin came home from Germany in late April, and we've just been having so much fun that I haven't had time to blog about it. We picked Kristin up from the airport late on the Friday the 27th, and we spent the weekend just hanging out. We did a bit of shopping, watched some movies, and Kristin listened to all the music she'd been missing while she was on her mission. Kristin was so excited to unpack all the boxes she'd left behind when she went on her mission, and rediscover all the clothes she'd forgotten she had. She was especially excited to put on some jeans, and she did some modeling for me.

The following Tuesday, we had a bit of a surprise for Kristin. Kelsey, one of Kristin's best friends, was flying up from Florida for a visit. We told Kristin that mom had agreed to pick up a sister from the ward who needed a ride home from the airport, and that it would be a great excuse to go to IKEA for lunch. There's an IKEA right next to the airport here. So we all went and had lunch, and then went to the airport to wait for "the sister from the ward". The look on Kristin's face when Kelsey walked out from the gates was classic!

Kelsey was here for a week, so we tried to cram as much fun into that time as possible. We went on a drive up the gorge to see the waterfalls, went to the beach for a couple days, and visited downtown Portland and the Saturday Market. It was an awesome week of awesomness.

I love how green it is in the gorge.
 Multnomah Falls!
Check out these lovely lades! ;)
The view from here was awesome!

 Epic pose.

Eating breakfast at Pig'n Pancake. Mmm...
Of course, you have to try on hats at the hat shop every time you're in Seaside.
It was only fitting that Kelsey try on the flamingo, as she's from Florida now.
The cow hat behind me photo-bombed this picture.
 Jump pictures are also required.
 Kristin's got ninja skills!
 Portland Saturday Market.

We had a great week, but then it was time for Kelsey to go back home. We were very sad to see her go, but at least we all wore epic t-shirts for the occasion!

It's been wonderful to have Kristin home again! It's been fun to have the girls of the family reunited again for the summer, and enjoy all our favorite summer pastimes. We've picked strawberries, gone swimming in the river, tanned on mom's deck, and lots of other fun adventures. And there's still a month to enjoy before Kristin goes back to BYU! Yay! I love my sister. :)
